Trespa Sheets are consisting of layers of wood-based fibers (paper and/or wood) impregnated with thermosetting resins and surface layers on one or both sides, having decorative colors or designs. A transparent topcoat is added to the surface layers and cured by trespa’s unique in-house technology electron beam curing (ebc), to enhance weather and light protecting properties.
These components are bonded together with simultaneous application of heat (? 150° c / ? 302° f) and high specific pressure (> 7 mpa) to obtain a homogeneous non-porous material with increased density and integral decorative surface.
Trespa Products such as Trespa meteon panels have established a strong reputation for longevity, colour stability and weather resistance.
Available in a wide range of vibrant colours and finishes, they are the material of choice for attractive design and architecture. Now trespa has introduced trespa meteon solar reflective technology (srt), which addresses a key challenge of energy saving. Especially in the middle east region, where 50-70% of all available energy is used by air-conditioning equipment, deflecting incoming heat is a key requirement. New trespa meteon srt improves the heat reflection of the building envelope, and makes it possible to design with darker colours, as they can now achieve heat reflection levels similar to some light(er) colours. In this way, trespa meteon srt offers design freedom with a choice of colours and makes a significant contribution to the energy savings of buildings. This product is exclusively available for the middle east & north african areas.
Trespa Meteon SRT now makes it possible to incorporate darker colours in your design, allowing you to create facades that really stand out. Yet they perform in much the same way as some lighter colours. The illustration shows the benefits of Trespa Meteon SRT compared to standard Trespa Meteon.
Comfortable living and working conditions are essential, especially in a hot climate. However, the energy cost of cooling a building is high. With Trespa Meteon SRT, less heat is absorbed, allowing you to reduce the amount of cooling needed. Moreover, Trespa Meteon SRT will bring additional benefits when used as part of a ventilated façade, by enhancing the cooling effect of the cavity air flow. Utilizing all three heat transfer mechanisms: conduction, convection and radiation, in conjunction with shading devices for the transparant parts of the building envelope, energy reduction may be improved significantly.
-MITIGATE HEAT ISLAND EFFECT
Due to the urban heat island effect, temperatures in cities can be several degrees higher compared to rural areas. This requires more cooling capacity and puts additional strain on the power grid. It can also cause degrading of air quality. Trespa’s exceptional heat reflection technology helps to reduce the panel’s surface temperature, thus mitigating the negative impact of heat islands.
– IMPROVED SRI PERFORMANCE
The Solar Reflective Index (SRI) is a measure of a surface’s ability to reflect solar heat. This value combines both TSR (Total Solar Reflectance) and Emissivity and is calculated according to ASTM E1980. Trespa Meteon SRT delivers on both higher reflectance and lower temperature.
Trespa Meteon panels are perfect for use in innovative and functional ventilated façade systems. Used on its own or as a highlight in combination with other materials, Trespa Meteon determines the look and underlines the qualities of a building. Trespa is at the forefront of cutting-edge building techniques. Ventilated facades are more than a design gesture they may provide energy efficient, long-lasting properties.
Solar protection solutions are becoming increasingly more relevant in the conceptual and design phases of new and rehabilitated buildings and are essential for regulating thermal and lighting .
Solutions such as slat systems incorporate energy, economic and environmental savings for practically all types of projects. In most cases these savings are achieved by air conditioning elements thanks to their solar protection function. There are many different positions and types of systems. Trespa Meteon is a perfect solution, since this material has the following principal characteristics:
Trespa® Meteon® brings compelling aesthetics and nearly limitless design possibilities with various colours, rhythms and depths to next-generation architectural solutions.
Trespa® Meteon® requires no treatment for edges as there is no risk of delamination.
LOW MAINTENANCE AND EASY TO CLEAN
The closed surface of Trespa® Meteon® practically withstands dirt accumulation, keeping the product smooth and easy to clean.
Fibres, most of which originate from managed forests which are recognised by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification(PEFC) and the Forestry Stewardship Council(FSC). These organisations encourage, among other eco-benefits, that forests are sustainably managed, taking the ecosystem and biodiversity as well as fair labour conditions into consideration.
