Architectural Design # 6 | How to design a living room grid? | Design Hustle
In the previous video, we discovered how architectural grids didn’t suck as much as you thought they did…If you haven’t watched it, you know what to do…But in this video, we will discuss how you can design a living room/lounge that will make your clients get comfortable and binge watch all the seasons of the game of throne and develop insomnia……. Ok. Yeah, lets talk about setting out “smart layouts” for Living rooms. A smart layout is a layout that has the capability to accommodate MORE without changing the logic behind it. So, Based on where you are from, you can call it a Lounge, a formal/informal sitting room, family room, a majlis etc. The function of the room is to accommodate people in such a way that they can have a two way conversations or do what we all spend a lot of time doing…watching television! Yeah, I feel the same way about tv… We will directly dive into setting out the logical structure of the room. Remember what we said about the grid being an ordering system? If you have not been following our series, I suggest you go down and watch the video where we explained about grids and how they are set out. It will just help you understand the concepts better.
