Site is selected in Peshawar city where there are more than hundred Nomads tribes living in unhealthy shelters resulting in diseases and many psychological problems. These kind of Nomads do need playing spaces and the women need a space where they interact and discuss the issues.
The design brief includes shelter design from materials which are low cost, easily available on site and can be assemble-dissemble easily according to their future needs.
Study and research was done on different local materials especially that are recycled. The essence of this project is to involve with the Nomads rather than design remotely.
Also to improve the toilets as the existing bathrooms are very un-hygienic resulting many problems where they are living as well.
Concept & Design
The inspirations were derived from portable architecture & earth shipBiotecture. Rain water harvesting technique was incorporated. Toilet that are low cost and can be portable where ever in future they want.
Feed backs were taken from end users though it is academic project but proper study was done to incorporate all the aspects and cater all the problems .
In this exercise Nomads instructed the student more in their spatial configuration to come with creative design solutions than working alone.
The project was also awarded in “Innovation, invention summit” in CECOS University in which many universities were participated.
