This amazing residence is located in the Lahore suburbs of BEDIAN.

Designed as weekend home to relax and entertain themselves, the house follows a minimalist approach.

The house is designed around a serene infinity pool with covered and semi covered area around it which can be enjoyed at various time.

The house is designed keeping the green building principles in mind with passive solutions and local and using local materials. It has a simple straight line aesthetics which greatly blends with the ambiance.

A design is successful if it provides pleasing aesthetics and a comfortable environment.

As we approach the house after entrance we see this striking infinity pool with amazingly interesting Franipani tree at oNE end and plam trees on the other end of the pool .

The pool is designed at multiple levels and water from top level fall into lower level which has river pebbles . The pool is cladded with rough stone . The pool is at the center of the entire design with covered and semi covered terraces and lounging spaces surrounding it .

Stone steps then lead to the pool deck and wooden steps lead directly to villa . located in such a distance that it reflects the villa completely .The Sea Green color of the pool tiles the color and texture stone under the infinity edge to minimize the white stains of chlorine that start appearing after some time. the pool deck is finished  in wood to reduce heat gain and minimize heat island effect .

Villa is raised 7 ft from the road level which gives amazing views to the pool from inside without any obstruction  . The interior space greatly aligns and visually merges with green field in front of it .

Overall the house looks simple with a cantilevered roof and  interesting use of color which sooth the ambiance and relax the users .

One of the major considerations throughout the design process was to achieve balance and harmony between built environment and surrounding nature. Materials that have been used in the exterior are stone textured tiles, woven bamboo screens around sitting area, solid wood, and cement/wood textured tiles for flooring. All these materials enhance the serenity and calmness of the atmosphere and blend the built area with the natural surroundings.

The materials have been used interestingly which are greatly enhanced by illumination and give a different environment feeling at night .

The same material palette has been taken into the interior by the Interior designer Sadia Rasheed and complimented by Fair faced concrete panels and polished brass wall cladding, which adds color and balances the wood ceiling.

The windows are tall unto 9 ft high for views to the pool and ;landscape and diffused light .

To limit the energy consumption walls are insulated and double glazed windows are used through out the villa . Cross ventilation is provided and low maintenance native materials are used .

Minute details have been considered in the design. From the gold color of the coffee table stone top mimicking the brass wall to shades of soft black leather balancing the fabric and wood.

A concrete frame structure with stone cladding  at the exterior . The wall thickness is 16 inch with 2 inch insulation . Floors are local tiles and wood in the interior and exterior. Materials are chosen for aesthetic balance as well as durability. Exterior as well as interior Lighting is LED based.

“The Villa’s design has received very positive reviews and to us this is a well-executed project with architecture, landscape and interior design all complimenting each and brining an overall harmony which is beyond our expectation.”
