Diffuse Limited Aggregation (DLA): Aggregation is a composition in which the “whole” subsumes and conceals its constituent “parts”. The aggregation process continues larger clusters form. The growth occurs mainly through encounters between different clusters, and therefore one refers to cluster-cluster aggregation process. The resulting clusters are irregular, but statistically self-similar. They are examples of mass fractals. It is possible to control the shape of the DLA by varying the spatial distribution at which particles randomly enter the environment.
