INTER CITY BUS TERMINAL, LAHORE
Lahore is Pakistan’s 2nd largest populated city and is a economical hub of Punjab. There are Three main terminal are working in city, Niazi Bus Terminal , City Bus terminal and Badami Bagh Bus terminal. These terminals are not well organized and not provide even basic requirments. On peak times like Eid events etc these terminals don’t fulfil the requirments. So it is need that there shoud be an other Bus terminal that fulfil the requirments as well as should be well maintained and well organized.
There are all facilities from ATM machines to Telephone booth Gift shopes and Restaurants within the terminal. Some other Facilities are written Below :
Transportation compnies Office
Drivers and hostess rest rooms
Entrance and exit are different
The project site is located 6.5 km away from Niazi Bus Terminal and 2.9 km away from Badami bagh Bus terminal along Ring Road ,Lahore.The area of site is 29 acres. There is River Ravi on North Side and Ring road on South side at distance of 1 km. Other two sides are fields.
The design shape of Terminal building is insipired from Aerodynamics.
Aerodynamics is the study of how gases interact with moving bodies. Because the gas that we encounter most is air, aerodynamics is primarily concerned with the forces of drag and lift, which are caused by air passing over and around solid bodies. basically it is inspired by movement of vehicles that incounter the air flow against thier movement direction.
